We met in summer amidst
Pale yellow and wet green.
Not a cloud obstructing,
What was it I had seen?

The fall was unbearable,
Dying brown and slate grey.
Months had to separate
The things I had to say.

Winter brought forth the end,
Angry whites, tired black.
The same story again,
I’ll never get the knack.

I got to know you in spring,
Blossomed pink, purple night.
Everything about me
Hid the love at first sight.

I loved you in summer,
Orange noon and calm lime.
Then life became perfect,
And so I lost the time,

‘Til autumn slowed us down,
Raining blues, choking brown,
And pressure on my heart
When I first saw you frown.

Winter killed us, I saw,
Absent white, flaming grey.
But can I love again?
There seems to be no way.

Spring comes back to call me,
Raining purple, calm white.
By myself, I’m not alone,
Colours get me through the night.

I don't know why, but my British blood seemed to be pumping strong for this poem, hence the spellings. It's about how two of my relationships worked out over the course of two years. If enough people inquire, I'll explain the significance of the colors and the words accompanying them. Enjoy.

NOTE: Deleted and resubmitted because the collective rectum had difficulty squeezing this out the first time.

If the best years are always ahead, then we will never see them.
Independance is a necessary thing sometimes... but so is codependance.
Those who know the past are still doomed to repeat it regardless.

Yeah, I'm a F\/<king philosopher all right.

It's nice to see people spelling things properly every now and again... ;)

I really like the seasoned feel that's scattered about this poem, and the abundance of colour and weather being compared to emotions, s'very good my man!

the walls are painted - different every second
my eyes are of chrome - it is television
can't let go of my leg - it's itching so and bleeding
layer by layer - i'm peeling away
a mirror is hanging - kinda loose on my wall
i'm passing it sideways - i'm saying 'hello'
my brother is halfways - through a book i've left him
he called me today - to see what i'd say

Katatonia - Chrome

No problem on the spelling, mate. Even though I was born an American, I have all British blood... or should I say claret? Your comment is much appreciated.

Absolutely beautiful! Conjures up wonderful images of seasons and the colours they evoke. So many emotions. I love colour and what it can mean to our lives.
